MailerLite (Newsletter)
Through our website we offer a newsletter with which we inform you regularly about new developments, current offers, and freebies. If you would like to receive our newsletter, we require a valid Email address from you, which you can enter in the registration form. We also ask you to enter your first and last name so that we can address you personally in the newsletter.
In order to be able to add you to our mailing list in a legally compliant manner, we use the so called "double opt-in" procedure. This means that we will send you an additional confirmation Email after the registration, with which you can verify your Email address and your wish to receive the newsletter again. Only after the double confirmation you will be effectively added to the mailing list. In order to comply with our documentation obligation, we store the IP address to verify your subscription, both when you subscribe and when you activate the confirmation link. In addition, we store the date and time of registration, the Email address provided, and the date and time of activation of the link in the confirmation Email for legally secure proof of your registration.
You give us your consent by confirming your subscription to the newsletter twice. You can opt out of receiving further newsletters at any time by clicking on a link at the end of each newsletter. You can also send an Email with the corresponding request to unsubscribe to us at hello@slightly-brilliant.com.
In order to organize and analyze the newsletter dispatch, we use the service "MailerLite" of UAB "MailerLite", J. Basanaviciaus 15, LT-03108 Vilnius, Lithuania. The data you enter for the purpose of receiving newsletters (e.g. Email address) is stored on MailerLite's servers in the EU. Our newsletters sent with MailerLite allow us to analyze the behavior of the newsletter recipients, e.g., it can be analyzed how many recipients have opened the newsletter message and how often which link in the newsletter was clicked. With the help of so-called conversion tracking, we can also analyze whether a predefined action (e.g., purchase through our Etsy shop) has taken place after clicking on the link in the newsletter. MailerLite also allows us to subdivide newsletter recipients based on various categories. In doing so, the newsletter recipients can be subdivided according to the data provided during registration. In this way, the newsletters can be better adapted to the respective target groups.
We have concluded a data processing agreement with MailerLite, with which this company documents to us its compliance with appropriate technical and organizational measures. You can read about how MailerLite stores and processes the data in MailerLite's privacy policy. This is available at https://www.mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy. By subscribing to the newsletter, you consent to the transfer of data to MailerLite.
How do we protect your data?
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data. We use industry standard practices and policies to ensure the protection of data collected and stored, and prevent the unauthorized use of such data. We also require third parties to adhere to similar security requirements in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Although we take reasonable steps to protect data, we cannot be held responsible for the actions of those who gain unauthorized access to or misuse our website, and we make no warranty, express or implied, that we can prevent such access.
Transfer of data outside the European Economic Area
It is possible that data may be transferred to third countries, such as the USA, via subcontractors or companies associated with them when you access and use our website and associated offers. Potential risks of this data transfer may be the lack of possibility to enforce data subject rights and possibly a lower level of data protection. We minimize these risks where possible by concluding data processing agreements where required and by relying on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and other appropriate safeguards where applicable.
